Pine wood furniture termites?

We just bought a pine log bed and we believe it has termites. We are finding a little pile of dust at one of the bed posts. Also there are tiny holes in the wood. We thought they were old holes as this is very natural wood. How do we get rid of these termites!! Please help. We live in North Florida. Thanks

Pine wood furniture termites?
Although I'm not terribly familiar with north Florida it sounds more like beetles of some type than termites. Sounds like powderpost beetles. . . .

Most termites hate sunlight, so a bedpost would be out of the question, I would also expect a lot more activity especially during the night. The link below tells you a little more about powderpost beetles, and how to get rid of them. You should take a picture and contact either your local extension office (see links below) or another professional to make sure. Hope this helps!
Reply:it may not be termites. I've heard real wood can have tiny worms in the wood and this is one way to tell if something made of wood is really an antique or not, some people actually put small tiny holes in the wood to give it that antique look, buy most likely it is termites...sorry if I gave you the creeps...call any place that specializes in pest control and ask them what you can do about it because they would know.
