We are going to camp at Lone Pine, Ca and we are bringing our 14 month old with us. I am afraid that he might get stuff by the plants or bugs. Is there anything, plants that I should be careful about there? What should I bring. I don't care about me but I don't want him to be hurt or get permanent rashes.
Lone Pine camping with Baby...?
Keep a sharp eye for anything he puts in his mouth, just like at home. Other than that, the same plants and bugs that bother us, mosquitos and poison ivy. I think i remember Avon making an insect repellent just for kids. I have heard Skin-So-Soft is also a good insect repellant, as are dryer sheets. Anything with DEET is safe for one application per day.
I saw the coolest thing the other day at Cabela's, almost wish I had one small enough to get one, check the link below...
Reply:Hydorcortisone should take care of bug bites as you might get the occasional tick but those can be carefully pulled off. The plant you need to worry about is poison Ivy/oak so remember leaves of three let it be. You might need to watch out for the occasional snake and mosquitoes.
Reply:A tube of Benadryl cream will treat just about anything that bites in the wild.
