What ingredient in White Pine (Pinus strobus) sap makes it flammable?

The sap of the White Pine is flammable. When burned the sap almost burns like a plastic. If you collect a small sample of the sap and light it on fire it will drip and burn. I'm curious to know the ingredient in pine sap that make it flammable.

What ingredient in White Pine (Pinus strobus) sap makes it flammable?
Tree sap is a hydrocarbon, meaning it's carbons with hydrogens.

Hydrocarbons are the current source of most of the power generated in the world - gas, oil, coal, etc.

Hope this helps~
