Why is pine wood inexpensive?

its for d.t homework, please just tell me anything you know about pine wood =D thanks

Why is pine wood inexpensive?
It's a very low quality of wood that is abundant.
Reply:Soft woods grow fast and right now, pine is abundant.
Reply:Pine, aside from growing quickly and being present in huge stands (a stand is a group of trees in which all the trees are one type) is fairly weak and full of knots. It is usually used for paper products, plywood, or other wood products that are knot (pardon the pun) seen very often.

1. Quick to Grow

2. Easy to harvest

3. Weak

4. Full of Knots
Reply:It grows fast and in soil that other trees won't.

Plant an oak, for example, and if you are 60, you are unlikely to live to see it grow taller than you. (helluva wood though)
