Keeping ball pythons around pine.?

I know pine shavings is a bad substrait because it causes respitory problems when ingested, but if the top of my cage is screened and the frame of the screen is made of pine, is that bad too?

Keeping ball pythons around pine.?
That should be all right. It's the shavings that are usually a problem. The shavings have pine dust. The framing on the screen shouldn't cause any problems.
Reply:it should be fine. one of the major problems with using pine as a substrate is the fact that the snakes head is in constant contact. it breaths the fine dust of the pine and it can cause respiratory problems. a solid pine frame on a screen top should be of no concern.
Reply:straight pine is ok. pine fur is not becaues it contains ceder in it which is oilly. so straight pine is ok not the best newspaper is the best!!!
