Replanting a Pine Tree?

Hello, we have a 10-12 foot pine tree in our back yard that is right next to another tree, and as the other tree grows the branches get tangled, and it looks really bad.

I would like to move the pine tree to another spot in the yard if that is even possible, just wanted to see if anyone could give me some information about this subject. Thank you

Replanting a Pine Tree?
Its done all the time by tree movers but it will cost more then what you might want to spend. Late fall to early spring is the best time. A pine tree doesn't have a main root, Evergreens have root balls so a tree that size will take a backhoe or a special tree removal impalement that looks like four shovels on a trailer. You might have to ask yourself which one do I like best and cut the other one down. Remember to plant two for one.
Reply:If you can get its roots out without damaging them too much it could be done. It sounds tricky at that size.Use a lot of water and some vitastart to help reduce the transplant shock. Better yet some E B Stone Sure Start in the planting hole might help. Probably the best time to do it is in the winter when the sap is down. Another thing you could do is prune some of the tangled branches and let it be or make the painful choice of which tree to remove. It is hard for people to imagine that what they are planting out of a one gallon pot will get to be a huge tree.
Reply:I dont know. some one tell me.
Reply:Right now your too late to move any tree you need to do this in late fall of around the first week in march.I have no idea where your located at in what state but do this in late fall or early spring make sure you do not cut the main root it is the biggest one and make sure you make the new hole 2 times bigger then the root base it self pines have a very shollow root base so you might want to stake the tree out useing rope and steel spikes to hold it up right till the next year making sure the roots lock in to the ground and get some help moving this it will be very heavey to move you got about 5oo lbs there to move around and after you transplant it water the heck out of it and mulch it good add some food too
