Why do we use pine trees durring Christmas time?

During Christmas we use the pine trees for Christmas trees right? well, why do we use a pine tree and not an oak tree? what is the reason we use pine trees and not any other trees?

Why do we use pine trees durring Christmas time?
Well, pine trees are evergreen (and actually most Christmas trees are spruce and fir)...thus the only trees that are nice looking and still green in every area of the world in the winter time. I suppose you could use an oak tree, but it would look pretty putrid.
Reply:well because there is a large population of them and they are easy to put candles on because they have strong leaves. other than that i have no idea
Reply:The fir tree has a long association with Christianity, it began in Germany almost 1,000 years ago when St Boniface, who converted the German people to Christianity, was said to have come across a group of pagans worshipping an oak tree. In anger, St Boniface is said to have cut down the oak tree and to his amazement a young fir tree sprung up from the roots of the oak tree. St Boniface took this as a sign of the Christian faith. But it was not until the 16th century that fir trees were brought indoors at Christmas time
Reply:I use a Douglas Fir. When we lived in Arizona years ago, we used a Tumble Weed.
Reply:We use evergreen trees (some are pine, some are firs, some are other needle bearing trees). The evergreen tree has been associated with the idea of ever lastingness because it remains green all year, even once the mighty oak's leaves have fallen off. It's a symbol of eternity.
Reply:Hon, they are called Cedar trees, not pines.
Reply:we use a coniferous tree because it is a symbol of unending life, it is always green and fresh looking until long after it dies. we use fir and spruce as well
